OWN YOUR POWER, NOW!

Few of us realize how incredibly powerful we are. And those who do may be afraid to exercise that power responsibly. Taking control of our lives implies taking responsibility for EVERYTHING that happens to us! If there’s no one outside of me to blame, that means “the buck stops here,” with me. So how can we create not only our desired destiny, but also our day-to-day, minute-to-minute empowering experiences? And reap the positive benefits we all seek!

First, we must understand a few key ideas that may be new, and perhaps even blasphemous (hopefully not!), ways to view God. And these beliefs include a different way to understand our personal relationship to God. I discovered some years ago that God isn’t that distant deity residing way out there in a place called heaven. That concept - similar to Michaelangelo’s anthropomorphic depiction of God on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel - is still the way many conceive of God. While Michelangelo’s art was magnificent, it was lousy theology!

My early beliefs imagined a God OUTSIDE OF and SEPARATE FROM ME. That childhood understanding long since has been replaced with a sense of the Life Force and Creative Energy that lives IN me and expresses AS and THROUGH me - according to my awareness. This God energy, which is in every one of us, is the Power I own that allows me to create the positive life I experience.

But God-Energy does not discriminate. Rather, It empowers us to manifest bad and evil just as easily as It enables us to create good. I co-create my existence with God. God MIND operates and creates at a macro-level, as my considerably smaller mind creates at a micro-level. My thoughts – especially my HABITUAL thoughts – create my world and my experiences, attracting to me whatever, whomever, and wherever I place my attention and intentions. To quote one of my greatest spiritual teachers, “When you rule your mind, you rule your world. When you choose your thoughts, you choose your results.”

Do you still wonder why so many “bad” things happen to “good” people? Don’t most of us want a happy, healthy, fulfilling life?  Please share your thoughts with us so we can expand this conversation!
